Marketing Agency Strategies

Marketing Agency Strategies

by

HenryJakson

In order for your company to thrive, you must have a good marketing strategy in place. Without marketing, few brands can survive simply by word-of-mouth advertising or by merely sitting on the shelf of the local shop. You naturally want your brand to stand tall above all the rest and to be noticed and talked about. This is where a Marketing Agency comes in and can change your business only for the better.

With a good Marketing Agency at your fingertips, the sky is the limit for your sales to soar ever higher. You will get that edge on the competition you desire and need in order to be number one. The first strategy of any Marketing Agency should be to make your brand become a household name. The public needs to become aware of your brand s name and the services or the products you sell and provide. A strategic method must be put into place in order for brand awareness to occur. And a good Marketing Agency can make that happen for you. Your brand should be on everyone s lips, in their ears and in front of their eyes.

An excellent Marketing Agency with good branding strategies in place will help you. They should perform a marketing audit for you. They will discover where your strengths and weaknesses presently lie. Following a marketing audit, a marketing development plan can then be developed. Personalized service is what is important during these steps of a branding service. You need a Marketing Agency that will take the time to get to know you, your product and whatever your present situation may be.

Management of your brand is necessary by using brand decision management tools. A strategic brand audit should also be done. This is akin to a complete, thorough check-up of the brand and how it is working at present.

An intensive strategic marketing planning program should be developed for you by your Marketing Agency. The elements of this program must include a branding strategy, clear marketing communications strategies, scoping out the market and making assessments for opportunities. Also portfolio planning and innovation, sales development and a marketing implementation plan need to be put into place.

Logos and design templates should be part and parcel of a Marketing Agency and what they have to offer. Your logo tells the world who you are and what you have to offer. Making sure a logo does what it should is the aim of marketing strategies that work.

Hand in hand with logo design are packaging and label designs. A Marketing Agency knows how to attract customers simply by realigning your packaging design or creating a specific label to suit your brand better.

In today s market, online branding is a major goal of most Marketing Agencies. The Internet market has become huge and ignoring online branding can become your downfall. Even with the right logo, packaging and advertising schemas, forgetting to use online resources would be a big mistake in many cases.

A compilation of brief news reports for Monday, May 7, 2007.

A 30 meter section of a gas pipeline in Luka (near Kiev) in Ukraine has been destroyed by an explosion. Although supplies to Europe via this pipeline have stopped, Ukrainian Energy Minister Georgi E. Boyko said that supplies to Europe would not be affected.

“There are no changes in volumes of gas being transported,” Yuri Korolchuk said. “Volumes due to pass through the damaged section are being redirected through the Soyuz pipeline.”

Normal flows are reported in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania.

Copper prices are rising. Between record copper imports from China, and a mining strike in Peru, the prices have climbed to over $8100 (United States dollars) a tonne, for a gain of $575 dollars over the last week. However the upward trend is not new, it has been climbing for quite some time. In April 2003, the price of copper was under $2000 a tonne.

The metal market has been tending up due to growth in the Chinese industrial production. This trickles down to the local level, where the buying price at scrap yards is ever climbing, making scrap metal collection a more profitable endeavour for individual people using pick up trucks or other such vehicles to collect and cash in the scrap metal at metal buying yards. It can be collected via agreements with businesses, from the garbage, or, sometimes, by theft.

Copper prices fell today on the NYMEX commodity exchange from US$3.7545 per pound to US$3.7125 based on the July futures contract.

Broken pipes cause flood in Darwin D. Martin House in Buffalo, New York

Correction — February 13, 2008 The break was a broken sprinkler head in a crawl space above the shop, according to Jeffrey A. Salmon Facilities Manager of the Martin House Restoration Corporation. Not a pipe.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Buffalo, New York —According to radio communications by the Buffalo, New York Fire Department, at approximately 10:15 p.m. EST two water pipes inside the Darwin D. Martin House, a National Historical Landmark, broke causing several rooms to flood.

The breaks were discovered in the gift shop area of the house but quickly began to flood other areas near the shop as firefighters had a difficult time locating the main shut off valves.

At 10:50 p.m., firefighters reported to have shut off “several main valves” stopping the flow of water. The cost of the water damage is not known, but covered several rooms. Recent sub-zero temperatures in the city is said to be the cause of the break. At the time of the call, the temperature was only 10°F with a wind chill of 4°F above zero. On Sunday the temperature was only 3°F with a wind chill of -23°F.

The house, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has seen rough times over the years, experiencing problems such as vandalism. The first half of the complex was built in 1903 and finished in 1905. After the pergola, conservatory, and carriage were demolished, restoration and rebuild began in 1992 and is scheduled for completion in 2008 or 2009.

Science curriculum director resigns from Texas Education Agency

Friday, November 30, 2007

Christine Comer resigned this month as the director of the science curriculum for the Texas Education Agency‘s (TEA) director after more than nine years. Comer said her resignation was due to pressure from officials who claimed she had given the appearance of criticizing the teaching of intelligent design.

According to documents obtained by the Austin American-Statesman, “Comer was put on 30 days paid administrative leave shortly after she forwarded an e-mail in late October announcing a presentation by Barbara Forrest, a critic of the intelligent design/creationist movement. Forrest served as an expert witness at the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial. At Dover, intelligent design was ruled “a religious view, a mere re-labeling of creationism, and not a scientific theory.” There is widespread scientific support for evolution, while creationism has been described as pseudoscience by the scientific community.

Comer’s resignation comes shortly ahead of the TEA’s State Board of Education (SBOE) reviews of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), which determine what should be taught in the classrooms and what textbooks are bought.

The advocacy group Texas Citizens for Science have released a statement saying, in part, “The real reason [Comer] was forced to resign is because the top TEA administrators and some SBOE members wanted her out of the picture before the state science standards—the science TEKS—were reviewed, revised, and rewritten next year. Plans are underway by some SBOE members and TEA administrators to diminish the requirement to teach about evolutionary biology in the Biology TEKS and to require instead that biology instructors ‘Teach the Controversy’ about the ‘weaknesses’ of evolution, that is, teach the Creationist-inspired and -created bogus controversy about evolution that doesn’t exist within legitimate science.”

Professor PZ Myers, biology professor at the University of Minnesota, Morris, wrote that Forrest is “exactly the kind of person boards of education ought to consult before going down the road of attempting to legislate religion into the public schools.”

In reaction to the news Forrest told National Center for Science Education, “In my talk, I simply told the truth — about the history of the ‘intelligent design’ movement, about the complete rejection of its claims by the scientific community, and about the Kitzmiller trial and my involvement in it. Maybe the TEA can’t afford to take a position on what constitutes good science education — maybe it must remain neutral on whether or not to lie to students about evolution — but if so, that’s just sad.”

Agency officials declined to comment, saying it was a personnel issue.

Understanding The R&Amp;D Tax Credits Relief In Uk

Submitted by: Steve. A Shaw

In 2011, many workers in UK were startled by the sweeping changes in their research and development or R&D tax credits system as announced by the chancellor. The changes were overwhelming in that it offered more encouragement to businessmen to invest in a research and product design company.

Essentially, the amends in the R&D tax credits increased the tax break of any company dedicated to research and development. This means that such enterprises are given the privilege to claim up to 200% relief from the usual corporation tax they pay for projects. Simply put, the companies no longer need to pay the tax from the cost of their programs. Rather, they would be given an extra 100% discount on corporation tax discount.

Additionally, the R&D tax credits that caused companies to lose significant funds are given payable credits that can reach as much as 24% of the total cost of the project. This program is offered by the government of UK to encourage major boost among starting corporations.

Undoubtedly, this system is enticing for many entrepreneurs. However, one cannot simply plunge in making investments for a ground-breaking research. It is imperative to get as much information as possible. It is, after all, pointless to spend thousands of pounds on R&D projects that do not bear qualifications for the government’s relief.

What is R&D tax credit system?

Research and development is defined as the quest to contribute an innovative product, services, and procedures. It is also referred to as providing of input that can enhance the understanding and knowledge of the general public. As such, the R&D tax credits can only be enjoyed by companies who can present the relevance of their project and tout the benefits that come with it.

The government of UK also requires the companies to provide evidences that their research is associated to what the company does. For example, manufacturers of cleaning products should stick to innovating new home hygiene formulas for them to enjoy R&D tax credits. If they commit the mistake of introducing kitchen tools, they are less likely to earn the favour of the government on their R&D application.

Can all companies apply for R&D tax credits?

Unfortunately, no. It is important to note that the industries that qualify for the privilege is limited. The credits are primarily rewarded to companies who are valid contributors and affiliated to the science and technology sector. These would include manufacturing companies, gadget corporations and engineering firms. Businesses pegged on social services don’t usually enjoy the relief.

Another qualification is focused on the originality of the research. The project should veer away from duplication, with the findings obtained from a scientific process. Random discoveries or those from trial and error will not be credited by the government.

How can companies apply for R&D tax credits?

The rule mandates all companies to include their claims for relief in their tax returns. Small-scale corporations are recommended to place a tick in box 99 in the form of application that points to the size of the company. Write the total expenditure of the business in the box 101 – this reflects that total cost of money spent on an R&D project.

Usually, the claim can be made within two years after the accounting period of the corporation tax ended. This should be written in the profit and loss box of the form.

Google buys DoubleClick for $3.1 billion

Friday, April 13, 2007

Google has announced its intention of taking over the Internet advertising agency DoubleClick in a deal worth $3.1 billion. DoubleClick has also confirmed the deal and hopes it will be completed before the end of 2007.

Rumours of a takeover offer for DoubleClick had been circulating, with Microsoft, Time Warner and Yahoo! all reportedly interested in making an offer for the company.

Six months ago, Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion. The current takeover is the largest in Google’s history. In a press release, Google says the acquisition “will enable Google to extend our ad network and develop deeper relationships with our partners. This new partnership represents a tremendous opportunity for us at Google to broaden and deepen our inventory of available ads and to better serve both our publishers and users.”

DoubleClick provides software for Internet advertising and brings together advertisers, advertisement agencies and website developers. DoubleClick is currently owned by the majority share-holders Hellman & Friedman, a private equity firm, with JMI Management also having a large stake in the company.

Why Kitz Valves Are The Ideal Choice For Demanding Applications

byadmin

Kitz has long been known as a brand and a company with a top reputation in developing durable, long-lasting and easy to work with parts and components. The line of Kitz valves offers all of these benefits, making the valves offered by the manufacturer a top option in even the most demanding and critical types of applications.

Options in Valves

As can be expected from one on of the leading manufacturers of valves on the planet, the types of valves the company produces are extensive. They are known for a top selection in globe, check, gate, ball and butterfly valves as well as strainer types of valves as well.

Unlike some valve manufacturers only offering standard sizes to meet the system requirements in specific industries, Kitz and their brands are designed to fit pipes and work in systems from a half an inch to up to 48 inches in their general product range.

In all, the company produces over forty thousand different types, sizes, and options in standard valves. They also manufacture specialty valves for customers around the world.

Specialized Valves

Specialized Kitz valves can be ordered to manage oversized pipe, high pressure ranges outside of the ANSI class ratings on standard valves as well as to meet specific temperature requirements.

For custom and standard valves, the company also offers a range of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, Duplex and other types of specialized materials for demanding and unique applications.

When choosing to use Kitz valves on any job, contractors and project managers know they are getting a reliable, tested valve. The company completes full stress-testing and analysis on all valves to ensure they can stand up to the jobs for which they are rated.

Israel Journal: Is Yossi Vardi a good father to his entrepreneurial children?

Thursday, December 20, 2007

Wikinews reporter David Shankbone is currently, courtesy of the Israeli government and friends, visiting Israel. This is a first-hand account of his experiences and may — as a result — not fully comply with Wikinews’ neutrality policy. Please note this is a journalism experiment for Wikinews and put constructive criticism on the collaboration page.

This article mentions the Wikimedia Foundation, one of its projects, or people related to it. Wikinews is a project of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Dr. Yossi Vardi is known as Israel’s ‘Father of the Entrepreneur’, and he has many children in the form of technology companies he has helped to incubate in Tel Aviv‘s booming Internet sector. At the offices of Superna, one such company, he introduced a whirlwind of presentations from his baby incubators to a group of journalists. What stuck most in my head was when Vardi said, “What is important is not the technology, but the talent.” Perhaps because he repeated this after each young Internet entrepreneur showed us his or her latest creation under Vardi’s tutelage. I had a sense of déjà vu from this mantra. A casual reader of the newspapers during the Dot.com boom will remember a glut of stories that could be called “The Rise of the Failure”; people whose technology companies had collapsed were suddenly hot commodities to start up new companies. This seemingly paradoxical thinking was talked about as new back then; but even Thomas Edison—the Father of Invention—is oft-quoted for saying, “I have not failed. I have just found ten thousand ways that won’t work.”

Vardi’s focus on encouraging his brood of talent regardless of the practicalities stuck out to me because of a recent pair of “dueling studies” The New York Times has printed. These are the sort of studies that confuse parents on how to raise their kids. The first, by Carol Dweck at Stanford University, came to the conclusion that children who are not praised for their efforts, regardless of the outcome’s success, rarely attempt more challenging and complex pursuits. According to Dweck’s study, when a child knows that they will receive praise for being right instead of for tackling difficult problems, even if they fail, they will simply elect to take on easy tasks in which they are assured of finding the solution.

Only one month earlier the Times produced another story for parents to agonize over, this time based on a study from the Brookings Institution, entitled “Are Kids Getting Too Much Praise?” Unlike Dweck’s clinical study, Brookings drew conclusions from statistical data that could be influenced by a variety of factors (since there was no clinical control). The study found American kids are far more confident that they have done well than their Korean counterparts, even when the inverse is true. The Times adds in the words of a Harvard faculty psychologist who intoned, “Self-esteem is based on real accomplishments. It’s all about letting kids shine in a realistic way.” But this is not the first time the self-esteem generation’s proponents have been criticized.

Vardi clearly would find himself encouraged by Dweck’s study, though, based upon how often he seemed to ask us to keep our eyes on the people more than the products. That’s not to say he has not found his latest ICQ, though only time—and consumers—will tell.

For a Web 2.User like myself, I was most fascinated by Fixya, a site that, like Wikipedia, exists on the free work of people with knowledge. Fixya is a tech support site where people who are having problems with equipment ask a question and it is answered by registered “experts.” These experts are the equivalent of Wikipedia’s editors: they are self-ordained purveyors of solutions. But instead of solving a mystery of knowledge a reader has in their head, these experts solve a problem related to something you have bought and do not understand. From baby cribs to cellular phones, over 500,000 products are “supported” on Fixya’s website. The Fixya business model relies upon the good will of its experts to want to help other people through the ever-expanding world of consumer appliances. But it is different from Wikipedia in two important ways. First, Fixya is for-profit. The altruistic exchange of information is somewhat dampened by the knowledge that somebody, somewhere, is profiting from whatever you give. Second, with Wikipedia it is very easy for a person to type in a few sentences about a subject on an article about the Toshiba Satellite laptop, but to answer technical problems a person is experiencing seems like a different realm. But is it? “It’s a beautiful thing. People really want to help other people,” said the presenter, who marveled at the community that has already developed on Fixya. “Another difference from Wikipedia is that we have a premium content version of the site.” Their premium site is where they envision making their money. Customers with a problem will assign a dollar amount based upon how badly they need an answer to a question, and the expert-editors of Fixya will share in the payment for the resolved issue. Like Wikipedia, reputation is paramount to Fixya’s experts. Whereas Wikipedia editors are judged by how they are perceived in the Wiki community, the amount of barnstars they receive and by the value of their contributions, Fixya’s customers rate its experts based upon the usefulness of their advice. The site is currently working on offering extended warranties with some manufacturers, although it was not clear how that would work on a site that functioned on the work of any expert.

Another collaborative effort product presented to us was YouFig, which is software designed to allow a group of people to collaborate on work product. This is not a new idea, although may web-based products have generally fallen flat. The idea is that people who are working on a multi-media project can combine efforts to create a final product. They envision their initial market to be academia, but one could see the product stretching to fields such as law, where large litigation projects with high-level of collaboration on both document creation and media presentation; in business, where software aimed at product development has generally not lived up to its promises; and in the science and engineering fields, where multi-media collaboration is quickly becoming not only the norm, but a necessity.

For the popular consumer market, Superna, whose offices hosted our meeting, demonstrated their cost-saving vision for the Smart Home (SH). Current SH systems require a large, expensive server in order to coordinate all the electronic appliances in today’s air-conditioned, lit and entertainment-saturated house. Such coordinating servers can cost upwards of US$5,000, whereas Superna’s software can turn a US$1,000 hand-held tablet PC into household remote control.

There were a few start-ups where Vardi’s fatherly mentoring seemed more at play than long-term practical business modeling. In the hot market of WiFi products, WeFi is software that will allow groups of users, such as friends, share knowledge about the location of free Internet WiFi access, and also provide codes and keys for certain hot spots, with access provided only to the trusted users within a group. The mock-up that was shown to us had a Google Maps-esque city block that had green points to the known hot spots that are available either for free (such as those owned by good Samaritans who do not secure their WiFi access) or for pay, with access information provided for that location. I saw two long-term problems: first, WiMAX, which is able to provide Internet access to people for miles within its range. There is already discussion all over the Internet as to whether this technology will eventually make WiFi obsolete, negating the need to find “hot spots” for a group of friends. Taiwan is already testing an island-wide WiMAX project. The second problem is if good Samaritans are more easily located, instead of just happened-upon, how many will keep their WiFi access free? It has already become more difficult to find people willing to contribute to free Internet. Even in Tel Aviv, and elsewhere, I have come across several secure wireless users who named their network “Fuck Off” in an in-your-face message to freeloaders.

Another child of Vardi’s that the Brookings Institution might say was over-praised for self-esteem but lacking real accomplishment is AtlasCT, although reportedly Nokia offered to pay US$8.1 million for the software, which they turned down. It is again a map-based software that allows user-generated photographs to be uploaded to personalized street maps that they can share with friends, students, colleagues or whomever else wants to view a person’s slideshow from their vacation to Paris (“Dude, go to the icon over Boulevard Montmartre and you’ll see this girl I thought was hot outside the Hard Rock Cafe!”) Aside from the idea that many people probably have little interest in looking at the photo journey of someone they know (“You can see how I traced the steps of Jesus in the Galilee“), it is also easy to imagine Google coming out with its own freeware that would instantly trump this program. Although one can see an e-classroom in architecture employing such software to allow students to take a walking tour through Rome, its desirability may be limited.

Whether Vardi is a smart parent for his encouragement, or in fact propping up laggards, is something only time will tell him as he attempts to bring these products of his children to market. The look of awe that came across each company’s representative whenever he entered the room provided the answer to the question of Who’s your daddy?
